After the success of our first event, we’re delighted to announce our second will take place next month.
Thanks to the support of The Guardian, who have kindly offered to host us their offices in Kings Cross, we’ll be opening the floor to a new set of speakers on 11 September.
We don’t like to mess with a winning formula, so this time around the format will be just the same:
- 10-12 new speakers, talking for five minutes (300 seconds each) about their personal or professional passion
- An audience of 100 or so people keen to listen and learn something new
- Some networking and socialising afterwards
If you’d like to hone your speaking skills in a safe and friendly environment, let us know what you’d like to talk about and we’ll be in touch. 300 Seconds isn’t just for women; we want to hear more from our peers in digital, whoever they are.
The first batch of tickets have already been snapped up! But watch this space – there will be more soon.
The aim of 300 Seconds is to help people to develop confidence and experience speaking in public, so that they’ll feel able to step up and present at industry conferences – bringing a greater diversity of voices and experiences to the conference scene.
Can you help?
We want to give our speakers a record of their talk online that they can point to afterwards. Can you help us to blog or record the talks?
We also want to offer speakers guidance on preparing presentations, identifying opportunities to speak, or submitting a proposal. Could you mentor one of our speakers?
Finally, if you organise a tech or digital conference, come along to our next event and find some exciting new speakers to present at your next conference.
