Ciara McVeigh is a studio manager for digital transformation consultancy Discerning Digital, and is passionate about humanising digital for businesses. And drinking red wine.
She noted her journey to technical expertise, from humble beginnings as a novice computer-user at university to her current position of confidence in the technology she uses. She explained how her memories of how intimidated she felt approaching a computer lab for the first time enables her to empathise with those she works with, likening herself to the “gooey bit” between the Oreos of business and technology.
She told how women are better able to help link the worlds of business and technology than their male counterparts because they are better at building relationships, and urged us to build relational skills, rather than feel pressured to know and understand every detail.
